Viv Burruel, a Tucson native, brings a rich and diverse background in veterinary medicine to her role as a Regional Manager at VetHaven. Her journey in the field began in Oklahoma City, where she first dipped her toes into veterinary medicine at the age of 16. Starting in an entry-level CSR and kennel position at a 24hr Emergency and General Practice Hospital, Viv quickly discovered her passion lay in clinic and patient care.
Dreaming of veterinary school from a young age, Viv found invaluable mentorship and guidance under the doctor she worked for, who nurtured her passion and helped her explore the many pathways her love for animals could take her. The staff at the hospital played a pivotal role in her growth, sharing their knowledge and allowing Viv to become a vital part of the emergency and general practice team. Through on-the-job training and in-clinic education, she learned the intricacies of hospital needs and standards for patient care.
Viv's career evolved as she gained new skills, learning from each of the six doctors on staff. She found her calling in overnight emergency and ICU patient care, surgical assisting, and general practice appointments, thriving in the hands-on role of a Technician.
In 2010, Viv returned to Tucson and briefly worked in Overnight Emergency. Due to family needs, she shifted her career focus to Behavior Modification and Training, but the allure of the clinic remained ever-present in her heart. Even when stepping away from clinical practice in 2014, Viv managed to intertwine her love for animals with her work, taking a managerial position at a local plant nursery. There, she combined her expertise in plant toxicity from her emergency days with educating clients about pet-safe planting.
At VetHaven, Viv Burruel leverages her extensive experience in veterinary care, emergency management, and client education. Her journey from a young enthusiast in veterinary medicine to a seasoned professional in the field embodies her relentless dedication to animal care and her adeptness in various aspects of the veterinary industry. As a Regional Manager, she continues to champion high standards of care and service, reflecting her enduring passion for pets and her commitment to excellence in the veterinary field.
